Please see the note below, the prayer rally has been rescheduled for Sunday. I will not be able to attend but I hope some of you can go.
Brothers and sisters,
A quick update: this afternoon Gov. Nikki Haley issued a statement regarding this weekend:
“Our family hopes the people of South Carolina will join us in staying away from the disruptive, hateful spectacle members of the Ku Klux Klan hope to create over the weekend and instead focus on what brings us together. We want to make the Statehouse a lonely place for them.”
While we strongly believe the Church is called to boldly stand for the Way of Christ, not be silent in the face of evil and injustice, and to unite in corporate prayer for the conversion of lives and the transformation of society, the organizing pastors of the Prayer Rally (Mike Smith, James Walden, Tim Hodge) are in agreement that we need to honor our governor’s request by rescheduling the Prayer Rally at the State House for SUNDAY at 3pm.
Please help us share the news of this change and plan to join us on Sunday at the State House at 3pm!
Thanks for recommending this talk. I found it very helpful and sent the link to a friend.
